I just met someone that has some various goodies from some Ford Superduties.

A D60 front (I think)

2 Sterling 10 1/4" (or whatever they are)

2 D80's (were these used on the SD?)

3 t-cases

What are these worth? What t-case did the SD use? Anything I should watch for that would make any of these undesireable?

D60.....that's what it is, yes. some differences from other D60's....8x170mm bolt pattern, 3.5 instead of 3.125 tubes, ball joints, 37.5 inch spring pad width, unit bearing hubs.

10.25 rears.........no, in a SuperDuty they are 10.5's

D80's........yes, possible I think from 350 dually......I could check but I'm too lazy to go to that end of the plant and check which ones they go in.

T-case ......same as above.......I'll have to get to the other end of the plant and see what T-cases are being used.

OH, about the D60. unlike other D60's, the SD 60 is the same for single wheel or dually. The dually version has spacers bolted to the frt hubs that can be removed and used as a single wheel axle by changing the wheel studs. They dually uses a coarse thread and the SRW uses a fine thread stud.
If you're in Cinci and should want a D60, I have a bunch of them, new and unused. mostly 3.73 but I have one 4.30, all are SD models.

Wow, thanks for all the info.

On the front 60, could early style knuckles, shafts, etc. be used? Or is the unit bearing hub setup strong enough compared to the traditional 2 bearing setup?

What the hell, got any more cummins engines? I just saw what your building .......................... dayum!

The Ford SD I have worked on all have NP271 transfer cases these are manual shift. Dana 60 front and a ford rear axle 10.5 full floater, like stated above. These are 2000 Ford 350's non dualie. The Ford 350 SD vans have dana 60 full floaters in the rear.

I reread your first post, and CJ's post, and it reminded me....99-01 SuperDuty single wheel trucks have a D50 in the front, not a D60. D60's were used in the dually trucks only in 99-01.
CJ...if you worked on a single wheeled pre- 02 truck it was a D50, not a D60.
Starting '02 the 250-350 single wheel trucks also got them. The knuckles out on the 50's are the same as the 60's. Be careful of any pre 02 axle that is being sold as a 60. You can tell the 60's by the 248 that is cast into the center secion. "248" is 248 millimeters, which is converted to 9 3/4 inches...ring gear size of the 60. D50's break pinion shafts.
Unfortunantly you can't swap earlier knuckles out to the SD housing. There are a couple "kits" out there being sold to do it, but they cost more than what a 78/79 axle brings.
The unit hubs have been problematic on the SD trucks, but you're talking about a truck that has a minimum GVW of 9700 lbs. I've not heard of them being trouble on a lighter vehicle like a Jeep, Bronco, buggy, etc. The unit bearings can be greased, contrary to Fords info. It's all discussed in detail at www.diesel-stop.com Do a search there under "greasing spindles" or similer search.
Unithubs have 2 bearings in them, the damn things are back to back though, with the wheel mounting flange outboard of them....which is similer to single sheer in fasteners. In engineering terms it is a "moment arm" and I can't imagine an engineer worth his salt designing a spindle as such.
