What type of spindle taper is that machine using?

Looks like a lot of fun, hope you enjoy it.

There's nothing quite like a new piece of equipment in the old shop is there?

when i firt looked at it I thought it was an R-8 but its not its quick chuck with the 1/4 turn lock so changing tools is quick. If i had to try and get replacement toll holder they are expensive, but the preveuos owner gave me a crap load so i wont have to worry about that.. and If I need More I can make them myself now...

There's only one problem with a machine like that. They have an
insatiable appetite for cutters (drills bits, end mills,etc.).Get
yourself an MSC catalog, they've got a huge inventory of machine
shop supplies and they're an excellent company to deal with.
:D

Well I just finished making a 5 hp rotory Phase converter so I now have 3 phase in the garage and the new machine works, still have to to some basic referencing and then start putting it to work. First try with the starters and caps and I am less then 5% between all 3 legs not bad I was not looking forward to screwing around playing with caps to get it dialed in... off to the next phase in the startup:flipoff2:
