WELL I FINALLY GOT A FRONT D44 FOR MY CRUZAH.....ABOUT 63-64" WIDE SPRING PERCHES ARE 27.5".......ITLL BOLT UP.......ITS LOCKED W 4.56 GEARS......

MY 4" SPRINGS ARE 43" EYE TO EYE....WRANGLERS ARE 45".....ITL FIX MY SHACKLE ANGLE AND BOLT RIGHT UP.....
I HAVNT FLIPPED MY FRONT SPRINGS AROUND YET BUT I HAVE MOVED THE FRONT SPRING 3" FORWARD......WITH THE WRANGLER SPRINGS IT WILL MOVE THE AXLE FORWARD 1" MORE.......

THE SPRINGS ARE OUT OF A STOCK YJ....IM WONDERING IF IM GONNA HAVE A MAJOR SAG ISSUE...WE'LL SEE.....

my friend's stock wrangler's front leaves sag and he doesnt even wheel it hard..if at first it dont sag, i bet it will after a trip or two or wheeling...once i get a front shaft, we'll need to go wheeeling

I know you probably got a sweet if not free deal on the springs but the norm for the swap seems to be a 6 or 7(cant remember) leaf cj7 rear stock pack. They are 69bucks new at Jc Whitney.Good luck

The spring rate on the Wrangler springs is probably too soft, meaning they will sag and wallow too much - what you might look into is swapping in parts of a Rancho pack (not very expensive) to stiffen the pack up - its what some folks do when they use Wagoneer springs on their Toy trucks. Check out the gorancho.com site for info on spring rates, etc. You'll notice the spring rate for a Cruiser is significantly higher than a Wrangler, probably because the Cruiser is a heavier vehicle.

I think you might have some sag issues.

Can somone clarify the stock distance between the spring pad centers, i just measured the other day on a housing that is in the back yard and i came up with 27 inches?

Ryan how did you come up with 27.5 inches.

I am shortening my d60 front next week and i would like to know.

The stock FJ40 front spring perches are 686mm apart.......or 27". They are not 27.5" (that is for CJ).

YUP MY CRUZAH SPRINGS ARE 27" APART.........I FIGURE 1/4" ON EACH SIDE SHOULDNT CAUSE TO MUCH TROUBLE.......IF SO I WILL MOVE THE REAR PEARCHES OF THE FRONT SPRING OUT A TAD.........IF THEY SAG I WILL TRY THE REAR YJ SPRINGS........IF THOSE SAG I WILL THROW MY WHOLE CRUZAH AWAY.............AND GIVE UP............

NO 6 PACK ANYMORE......I HAVE ONE OF THOSE RARE 8 PACKS FROM CHEBY.......

HEY PETER ......HIGH ANGL DRIVELINE IS HAVING A SPECIAL IN DECEMBER FOR LONG TRAVLE SHAFTS..............I THINK LIKE 200$$$......

Also, what was the reason for removing your cruiser springs...were you SUA w/ lift springs?

IT WENT GOOD..................YUP I HAD 4" LIFT SPRINGS ON THE CRUZAH.......

WELL THE FRONT AXLE GOT MOVED FORWARD 1" AND IT LIFTED IT ABOUT 1.5".......AT REST THE SHACKLE ANGLE IS ALMOST EXACTLY 45 DEG.......

THE 1/2" OF DIFFERENCE OF SPRING PERCH WIDTH MADE NO DIFFERENCE......EVERYTHING BOLTED RIGHT UP.......

ALSO AT REST THE SPRINGS ARE THE SLIGHTEST BIT PAST FLAT.......OH WELL....I THINK WHEN I PUT THE REAR WRANGLER SPRINGS IN IT WILL FIX IT.......

HAVNT RAMPED IT OR ANYTHING YET BUT THE WIDTH LOOKS BADASS........THE CRUZER STILL SITS FAIRLY LOW BUT ITS SLOWLY GOING HIGHER.......
NOW ALL I NEED IT TO MAKE ANOTHER SQUARE FRONT SHAFT.....AND TO TRIM MY DRAG LINK ABOUT 1" TO BE ABLE TO CENTER THE STEERING ........

DAMN I WISH I HAD A LITTLE RED STAR......
