what are you guys running for drop brackets and or track bars?

Duff and BC websites only say 3.5-4", but they both sell 5.5" lifts?

Do we have to make our own for anything over that?

what are you guys running and how does it handle on the road, at high speed, as it's my DD....

Thanks

Just reenforce the stock bracket, the make a new lower axle mount to raise the axle end about 2 inches ( or match your drag link angle)

Duff has drop bracket that is a must and I believe Wild horses has an adjustable trac bar for $140, I believe. Other wise you can cut your existing trac bar and align your axle and weld a tube around your existing trac bar to get the distance that you need. I have done that so far and it has worked, though I plan on buying the adjustable trac bar when I can let my wife buy one....

Like weldnman said, you don't want to drop your frame bracket, you want to raise your axle bracket. The frame is a weak point as it is, you don't want to add any leverage to it. Raise the axle side, it will be stronger and give you the same result.

I just cut and extended my trac bar. Raising or lowering one end of the bar and not addressing the drag link angle causes bump steer because, they are no longer running parallel to each other....something to consider:rolleyes:

I got an idea....

don't lift it so fawking high :flipoff2:
can any of you 5.5 guys out there tell me how high your crank is located?

I would keep it lower and break out the sawzall.

Raising/lowering the bracket is addressing the angles ;)

This topic was asked about what people do with the trac bar :p
(The DRM coming out of me)
But your right, I guess it shoud be added to this topic to either do a tie rod flip or a drop pitman arm at the time of the lift.
In my experiance people do the whole lift (sttering corrections too) first then raise or lower the trac bar bracket to match

the steering is not hte issue, I will fix that.... the reason for the 5.5 is to clear the rear uncut fenders....

on the Jeepster I put on my EB frame :flipoff2:

thanks for the help guys.
