Gonna buy a kick. Opinions on whether I should get a stick or an auto and why?

I dont want to make this a general auto vs stick thing, just curious about the kick auto specificallly. Anything suck about it?

Any of the dual case adapters work only with one or the other? That sort of thing....

we have a guy locally with a 16v in his zuk, running a 2wd kick auto. and he seems to really like it, but the thing is HUGE and his jack shaft is about 2 inches long :(

There are certain tcasethat aftermarket tcase gears will not fit in some t cases all i can tell you is that RRO is the only gears that will fit all tcase.

But your more likely to find auto than stick.
I think the 96 an up autos are 4 speed the rest are 3 speed.

And i hear the 5th gear is bad in the 2wd tranny

I wheel a stick - and I can hardly wait to put a 4:1 tcase gearset in - even with 5.83 diffs, there are a lot of situations where I end up having to slip the clutch a lot. I think the auto would make a big difference here, but I can't bring myself to make the change. I think that with the 4:1, my "powering out" problems will be reduced to the point that I won't have any more of these issues.

Well the stick comes with a 5.12 to 1 gear ratio, while the auto slightly less.

I wheel with a guy (BB88) that's got a 4dr kick with an auto and he loves it. The rig could use a little more gear in the cases and the diffs but all in all he says it is nice to just push the gas and go. He has had NO problems with the auto.

He is also running Yota axles and dual t-cases.
