Was going to send you a private message but thought maybe someone else here could use this info too so.....
For the last 3 nights i've spent countless hours searching this board and playing with numbers for my waggy dana 44 swap.
I read lots of your posts. My question is when you did Moto's 44 swap do you have any idea how far it was from the center of the front passenger side spring perch to the passenger side wheel mounting surface?
i don't have access to my front Dana to go out and measure. But if that perch is directly above where the old spua perch was then, from what i figure, it would be 14.25 inches. I'm trying to do this so i know how much to cut out of my front axle (I don't want to outboard my springs) So if it is 14.25" you add the sami spring spacing 28" then 14.25 " for the driverside and you get, 56.50 total. So i would need to cut 3.5" off the driverside, assuming it's 60" wide, to make this all work.
Does this seem logical?
Thanks for any info.

on moto's shit we converted it over to 5lug, and the ford wheel hub's will make a difference in that measurement.

we made his spring center's 29in, same as a toyota, and cut exactly 3in off the long side, now had we left it 6 lug that would be exactly 58in wide. but in 5 lug form it's somewhere in the 57 range... the passenger's side perch is directly on top of the stock cast in perch, so if you were to remove 4inches from the long side, and move the perch in the 4inches, you'd end up 57in wide with the origional 6 lug stuff...

now what rear axle do you plan to run with this? a narrow track toy? the offset waggy rear's run 59 wide...

Thanks for the quick reply..
Going to run Waggy rear, I got 58" when i measured it.
Haven't decided for sure what i'm doing with that width yet. Could always play with wheel offset maybe go 5" b.s. on an 8" wheel. (that should be the same overall track width as sami axles with 2" b.s. wheels i run now, from center of tire to center of tire is 56") .... then I'd factor that into how much i have to cut down my front axle....

if your sticking with the 6 lug, i do have a set of 1in spacer's i'd sell ya ;) 59 frt 58 rear, or you could get a spacer kit like all-pro sells for the toy's , the 3/4in thing alum's with the longer studs, they work perfect on a D44 too ;), after you just touch the spacer with a larger drill bit to make a small relief ;)

or even like alot of the SAS toy guy's who even with spacers are narrower in teh front...

moto's a touch narrower up front and has no issues with it...
