I'm lookin to see what type of brake and clutch systems people are running. I've got a 48 CJ2A I've built and I'm replacing the old setup with new. The Jeep has a 3/4 ton D44 front from a mid 70's GM and the rear is a D60 dually from an early 80's Dodge. My old setup was a master and clutch cylinder all in one. I don't have much gripe about the clutch other than it was VERY stiff, but the master cylinder was too weak for the big truck brakes and it only had one line out, which went into a T connector. So I was running equal pressure to both front and rear brakes.
A man from my local Jeep club informed me about a master cylinder from a mid 80's E350 van. I went to the parts store to look at it and it seems like a winner, but i won't know until I buy it and do a mock up. $39.99 for brand new isn't bad either.
I did a search here and got an idea on a clutch cylinder from an 80-83 CJ to run.
Those are the ideas I have now. What are other options? Mainly looking for some hi-power clutch cylinder cause the last one frankly just sucked ass.
Last question. Are proportioning valves or a combination valve neccessary? I figure that's something that can be added later if I need them.
