If you can fit the tranny in there with a short shaft i would say use the zuk case.....
And yes you will need a lift:D
Oh welcome:flipoff2:

He said in a KICK, not in a Sami.
Your biggest issue (having both multiple Kicks and a Grand Vitara at home), is going to be the WIDTH of the engine.
The length of the GV engine, tranny, and Xfer case is probably about the same as the kick.
EDIT: The GV 2.5 V6 is also quite a bit TALLER than the 1.6. Lift is going to be a biggie. Probably 3" body at least.
Oh, and never EVER use anything but 5W30 in that GV motor, unless you like replacing timing chain tensioners every 40,000 miles (this is just a LITTLE less work than replacing the pistons & crankshaft).
EDIT2: On second thought, it won't work - give it to me!!!

sorry no can do, (giving it away) just found it completly totaled in a junk yard with only 12,000 original miles. stolen recovery in real bad shape motor runs fantastic and since i know the junk yard owner i can have it for about 150.00. a price like that is hard to beat i just need to think of what other parts i can use off it before sending it back to the crusher.

The 2.0 V6 (forerunner to the 2.5) was fitted to the 4dr Kick in Australia and I also think the UK. It was a widetrack version with the chassis rails widened about 60mm.

That sounds like the US "SideKick Sport"

I´ve been trying to find one of these motors for the last year, with no success.....:( I´d gladly pay 5 times what you did.
Shipping costs for the seller, of course......;)

We had the widetrack in OZ in two versions, a swb with the J20A 2.0 4cyl and the lwb with the H20A 2.0 V6. I believe it is the same chassis setup as the sidekick sport in the US, just different engines. We had this until the Grand Vitara was introduced in '98. The new XL-7 is out now, not to pretty but more power in the engine and they now have ABS as standard on the entire GV range now, 3dr & 5dr. We seem to get the models a year earlier.

Hah, I have to look at one every time I pop the hood on Mrs. Bobzooki's Grand Vitara, and I think "I wonder if she would notice if I swapped engines, and gave her the 1.6/16"... Yeah, right.
