Well gee, you guys sure are attached to this "newbie" thing. I come here, I make a little mistake, and you guys harp on it, give me the little flip-off icons. Hoorah. You guys sure know how to make someone feel welcomed. I have met lots of Zuk guys out on trails, and its always been like finding a kindred spirit. For some reason I expected to find that here. Guess I was wrong.
I aint thin-skinned, I can take a joke. But I get enough shit from the friggin Jeep and toyota snobs out there for driving a "Tonka Truck", asking me where the hamster wheel is under the hood, how many AA's it takes, and just general disrespect for both my choice of 4x4, and my devotion to building up a damned fine little vehicle.
I go places and do things in my zuk that my friends with lockers, 33's, chevy small blocks and jeepeaters dont think I can make. And i do it with open diffs, a lousy lift, stock gears, and street tires. They always whip out thier winches and ask me if I want a hand, or if my hamsters have died. The jokes were old about 10 minutes later.
Maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe you guys were just ribbing me. I admit, the link to the classified section being just a couple inches down on the main page there and my blatant stupidity for not finding it does tend to make me look like an idiot. I got the flu, works been sucking, and I guess I just plain screwed up.
So you're right, I am a newbie, I make newbie mistakes. If this is how you treat new guys, I have to wonder how you swell your ranks, as I dont feel too inclined to stay here or get to know any of you folks. I hoped to find other zuk enthusiasts who shared my passion for the Samurai, people who would not berate and ridicule my dreams of engine swaps and mods, people who actually saw the Suzuki Samurai as a viable alternative to Jeeps and Toys.
Guess I dont fit in with your crowd, either. See ya around.
