And turned cartwheels cross the floor.
I believed kind of seasick
But the choir proclaimed for more.
The basses hummed strongly
And the condition ran away
As it for another Song proclaimed
The basses ran away
And like that it was later
As the condition their history explained
That their face with first straight Rosie
Turned a whiter colour of slats.

She did not say ' is a reason there,
And the truth is to be seen normal, '
That you your music did not learn
And there is no apology
One of sixteen small sopranos
Who left for the coast
And although our ears were opened
They could have well-being straight straight closed.
And like that it was later
As the condition their history explained
That their face with first straight Rosie
Turned a whiter colour of slats.

You should start by getting the name of the tune right. :flipoff2:

Then just type it into google followed by the word "lyrics". ;)

You could also research your own question via google.

A Whiter Shade Of Pale
We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
The crowd called out for more

The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned A Whiter Shade Of Pale

She said: "There is no reason
And the truth is plain to see."
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be

One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might just as well be closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned A Whiter Shade Of Pale

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned A Whiter Shade Of Pale

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned A Whiter Shade Of Pale

[Additional lyrics sung in concert: ]

She said she wanted shore leave
Tho in truth we were at sea
So I took her by a looking glass
And forced her to agree
Saying you must be the mermaid
Who took Neptune for a ride
Well she smiled at me so sadly
That my anger straightway died
And so it was, etc...

I see that the correct name is vital to getting the lyrics.

Funny, but exchange the whiter for lighter and you stil get some hits on google.

Thanks...

Procol Harum is awesome, I've said this before in alot of threads here. Their music is wonderful, and really fun to get into. They are highly underated. I have tons of their old vinyl, which sounds the best in my opinion... Good stuff!

It means abolutely nothing, kind of like most of Bob Dylan's lyrics, sounds real deep and has no meaning, just stream of consciousness. BTW, that about Dylan is true, he admitted it a while baclk.

Oh..and by the way what part of...

A cat's meow and a cow's moo, I can recite 'em all,
Just tell me where it hurts yuh, honey,
And I'll tell you who to call.
Nobody can get no sleep,
There's someone on ev'ryone's toes
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here,
Ev'rybody's gonna wanna doze.
Come all without, come all within,
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.

sounds like a stream of drivel...oh thats right all of it! I still like Bob though

Have you heard the Weird Al Parody. It is hilarious

A Salty Dog is another good song !

All hands on deck, we’ve run a float,
I heard the Captain cry.
Explore the ship, replace the cook,
Let no one leave alive.
Across the straits, around the horn,
How far can sailors fly?
A twisted path, our tortured course,
And no one left alive.

We sailed for parts unknown to man,
Where ships come home to die.
No lofty peak, nor fortress bold,
Could match our captain's eye.
Upon the seventh seasick day,
We made our port of call.
A sand so white, and sea so blue,
No mortal place at all.

We fired the guns, and burned the mast,
And rowed from ship to shore.
The captain cried, we sailors wept,
Our tears were tears of joy!
Now many moons and many Junes,
Have passed since we made land.
A Salty Dog, the seaman's log,
Your witness, my own hand.

I can here the music in my head, that was the best time of my life !

Stuff I listen to has nice cheery lyrics:D

MURDER IS MASTURBATION
I’m not awake
But I’m not dead
The drugs are late
Lost my money again

They never gave you anything
You’d think you get the fucking point
I’ll laugh until I’m fucking killed
I see the point but I can’t find a way
To get through this fucking mental hell!!!

I’m not alright, but I’m OK
(x2)

All hail the pessimist
All hail the anarchist
All hail the rest that never gave
A motherfuckin’ shit

It’s killing season
Time to celebrate
What better way than to
Rid the world of all the walking waste

Wanna see it
I’ll show you something
A middle finger
With a barrel and it’s fucking cocked

I got a new way
So you can fuck yourself
Kill the motherfucker - all that I think about, yeah!

I’m not alright, but I’m OK
(x2)

Sometimes
You gotta voice your revenge
Or you’re better off dead
You’ll lose your fucking mind
Sometimes
You gotta look at yourself
See the world inside out
And scream out loud

That motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
And that’s all that I think about (x 2)

That motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
Cause we all need to scream out loud

I’m not alright, but I’m OK
(x2)

I found the easy way to die
Just educate myself and pretend
All I’ve learned’s untrue
And yeah, I know that
All I’ll lose is you

Have you ever loved something
That never seemed to
Have a face at all
It just screams out loud…..yeah!

It always cures the pain that would never leave
Then causes even more
It just screams out loud
But never goes away!

That motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
And that’s all that I think about

That motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker
Kill that motherfucker

"Salty Dog" is one of my favorites too, though by a different band (Flogging Molly)

FLOGGING MOLLY LYRICS

"Salty Dog"

I'll wait for you till I turn blue
There's nothin' more a man can do
Don't get your bollocks in a twist
Settle down, don't take a fit
Ya drank with demons straight form Hell
They almost nearly won as well
Ya wiped the floor with victory
Then puked until you fell asleep

Blackened was the banshee's wail
These boot will never fill her jail
So you crawled into an empty boat
For the Gulf of Mexico
Till Cortez came an' when so did you
From the ashes charred and blue
Smellin' like a Salty Dog
Back from Hell where you belong

Anarchy, the scourge of every sea
The Antichrist aboard a rig
With us your cutthroat thieves
The ship went down we all near drowned
Ya stood there on the deck
Till the Spanish came and flogged yer arse
And dragged you from the wreck

They threw a rope around yer neck
To watch you dance the jig of death
Then left ya for the starvin' crows
Hoverin' like hungry whores
One flew down plucked out yer eye
The other he had in his sights
Ya snarled at him, said leave me be
I need the bugger so I can see

Yeah Lyrics like:

As one with the knowledge and magic of the source
Atuned to the majesty of music
They marched as one with earth

Sol, Dhoop
Sun
Ilios
Naytheet
Ah Kin
Saule
Tonatiuh
Qurax
Gunes, Grian
Surje
Ir
Samse

So the flowering creativity of life wove its web face to face with the shallow
And their gods sought out and conquered
Ah Kin

Do the leaves of green stay greener through the autumn
Does the colour of the sun turn crimson white
Does a shadow come between us in the winter
Is the movement really light

And I heard a million voices singing
Acting to the story that they had heard about
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you

Where does reaon stop and killing just take over
Does a lamb cry out before we shoot it dead
Are there many more in comfort understanding
Is the movement in the head

And I heard a million voices singing
Acting to the story that they had heard about
Does one child know the secret and can say it
Or does it all come out along without you
Along without you
Along without you

in the end of sixties and the early seventies the bands at that time were so creative and each band has it's own character. This times are gone for ever. Unfortunatly I cannot express myself with a better English , I could still say so much more.

This one's actually pretty easy to figure out, but it's fun all the same :)

As I rode into Tombstone, my horse his name was Mac,
I saw what I'll relate to you, goin' on behind my back
It seems that folks were up in arms, a man now had to die,
For saying things that didn't fit the laws they'd set aside.
The man's name was "I'm a Freak", the best that I could see,
He was the executioner, a hangman just like me,
I guess that he'd seen loopholes, from workin' with his rope,
He'd hung the wrong man many times, so now he turned to hope.
He talked to all the people from his scaffold in the square,
He told them of the things he'd found, but they didn't seem to care
He said the laws were obsolete, a change they should demand,
But the people only walked away, he couldn't understand.
The marshall's name was Uncle Sam, he said he'd right this wrong,
He'd make the hangman shut his mouth if it took him all year long,
He finally arrested Freak, and then he sent for me,
To hang a fellow hangman, from a fellow hangman's tree.
It didn't take them long to try him, in their court of law,
He was guilty then of thinking, a crime much worse than all,
They sentenced him to die, so his seed of thought can't spread,
And infect the little children, that's what the law had said.
Well, the hangin' day came round and he walked up to the noose,
I pulled the lever but before he fell I cut him loose,
They called it all conspiracy, and then I had to die,
So to close our mouths and kill our minds, they hung us side by side...
And now we're two hangman, hangin' from a tree,
That don't bother me, at all.
Two hangman, hangin' from a tree,
That don't bother me, at all.

:)
