Appears that Cooper Tire is in a lawsuit at the Moment.

"If you are a retail purchaser or an end user of an Eligible Cooper Tire, you may be eligible to receive benefits under a proposed nationwide Cooper Tire class action settlement.

The group of individuals eligible to receive benefits under the proposed settlement include all retail purchasers, or end users, of an Eligible Cooper steel belted radial tire purchased new at retail and installed on a vehicle owned or leased by such retail purchaser in the United States or its territories and possessions, manufactured by Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in the United States (whether sold under the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company label or a private label) from January 1, 1985 until January 6, 2002, and who still retain said tire, excluding: (a) Defendant; (b) consumers who have sustained personal injury and/or property damage; (c) any Used Tire Business; and, (d) any judicial officer(s) presiding over the Related Actions.

Cooper makes the tires for Pro-Comp too. I wonder if they will be affected?

That's every tire they make. Man, I've been running several of those models for YEARS with no problems. Wonder what the reason for this is. I had heard there was SOME fallout after the Firestone fiasco that might impact Cooper & others. But, everything they make?

Okay, NOT everything is covered, but everything is listed. DOT #'s on the Lifeliners on my DD were mounted IN, so I'll crawl under there later.

I just checked my Pro Comps DOT number on their eligibility calculator, they are eligible. I just bought the tires last month and as yet don't have a single mile on them. Of course there has to be a separation before the tire is eligible for replacement.
