Here is my brake setup. Stock front Scout, TSM rear with eldo calipers, hydrooost from late 70's eldo disc/disc.

With 33 inch tires I have plenty of power, great control, I am very happy with the setup, so of course I am thinking about changing it. I intend to move up to 35 inch tires, but doubt that I would ever go larger.

I am just in the planning stages and far far away from building new axles, but I want to get an idea of what parts I need to collect as they show up at the boneyards.

I am looking to put together a front brake setup on a front 60 that will give me similar power to what I have now and work with the rest of my system. I will be using Ford front hubs machined down to 5x5.5. I have beadocked 15 inch wheels and want a setup that will work with them.

I have read pretty much everything I can find online on custom front 60's, but figured you guys can give me the best analogy on the power of your custom front stuff as compared to the stock Scout setup.

I use stock 60 brakes up front with 1/2 ton chevy rotors and calipers in the back, and a hydroboost from an 85 chevy diesel w adjustable proportioning valve and 38s. stops better than anything.
to use the stock brakes you will hve to grind the calipers down to fit in your 15s. you can find info about grinding by searching.
not too tough.

Front 44 should be big enough for 35's....mine's been living under a V8 and 37's for some time. I run 3/4 chevy discs and rotors at all four corners and it works great.

Grinding is easy....just get to it.
