If you have a vacuum leak and you cannot find it. You may want to check the studs that the carb is fastened with. The two studs that are on the engine block side are threaded all the way down into the intake manifold. If you remove the studs you can see into the manifold. If you do not have a good seal on these studs you will have a leak come up through the threads just like me.

I'm not sure if I'm going to use pipe tape? or some kind of gasket sealer around the stud once it is in. I will update you tomorrow.

hope this helps one day!!!

Yeah you are right, there are a few other "through threads"
on the intake. I can't remember them unless I am under the hood.
When I have the truck and am rebuilding the carb, all the studs come out and get "aircraft quality" Permatex gasket
maker stuff on the threads then reinstalled. The sealant stuff is kind of like red High Tack but very fuel resistant and sets up thicker and harder. But not as hard as Loctite liquids.

Thanks for sharing that. I guess I should start posting those type of things, but I kinda figured most folks knew about them. And I know a lot of us do, but for those that don't and don't post here often, that only read, I'll mention some secrets once in a while.

Is that OK, Dogwalker?? Just want to make sure.
