Found a sweet looking 55 for sale. It's got a weird paint job, but I'm sure the rocks can help fix that Anway, it's listed for $2900, don't know what year it is, but it's got a 350. And the steering is crappy. Plus the interior isn't great. The guy sounds really cool and is willing to deal/work on the price. What do you guys think? Sound like a reasonable price? I was thinking of offering $2k cash and see what he says. Anything I should watch out for? Things to look for? Any help from the 55 guru's? Thanks!

First off, welcome Newbie

Second, if the only redeeming quality to this Pig is that it has a V8 and the rest is crap, 2K is on the outside of a decent price.

If the rig is a late model with a 4 speed, disc brakes, etc, then it is worth the $$$.

The Pig I bought ran after an hour of work and I paid $850 for it. I ended up parting it out because the body was so shot.

Remember, sheet metal for pigs is the hardest thing to find since FJ-40 stuff can't be used.

Check out the frame and make sure it is good then make your decision based on what you plan on doing with it.

Send photos and maybe I can help you decide.

It's got a 4-speed. The sheet metal is in great condition, considering, typical rust around the wheel wells. Seepage around the t-case. Driveline looks solid, didn't look too hard at the frame. Overall it's in good condition, from what I can tell. I'll try to borrow a digital cam and take some pics tomorrow, I'll e-mail you with them, Thanks!

It's painted turquious with purple accents and purple rockcrawler rims. My girlfriend doesn't even want to get out of the car to look at it

And thanks for the gracious pirate welcome!

my wife did'nt want to get out of the car and then told me "you're nuts" after i told he how much i was going to pay for an orange fj45 wagon that had been sitting for 20 years and was in the according shape.
moral of the story is: now she loves it and according to her it's the last car we'd ever sell. Yeah Baby!!!!

Poor little piggy! If you're gonna paint it a goofy color, at least make it piggy pink!

I bought my piggy for $1200 with a shot body. Got a rolling chassis for $300. Sounds like this one might be worthwhile.

Good luck
