I am asking this for a buddy...
He has, A 77' short wide, With a bigblock, 4spd, 205, ff14, ANd a 35spline 60 front.. 15" of lift and 44" boggers
Now the question is, It goes throw front drive line's like crazy.
Does anybody run the dual 1410 setup??, Also does anybody run just a single 1410 at each end of their front shaft??
My idea was to just run the 205/203 doubler, That way he could get a descent front drive line angle, And then index the axle to tip the pinion way up, and not screw with steering geometery..
I did the search, And kep on gettin jeep stuff??
Any ideas chevy guys???

Thanks in advance...

O'ya you better believe it I have pulled the above truck out of a pit, with 35's on my toyota...(60' strap, And a good run at it though):D

I think youll be hard pressed to find anyone here with 15" of lift. Either way your best bet is to call high angle driveline. They sponsor the site.

short and wide huh? I never knew they made a skinny bed. so do they made a wide cab too? :flipoff2:

EDIT: you do know that the abreviation SWB stands for short wheel base, not short wide box, right?

i dunno about ya'll, but i see SWB and i see either or short wheel base or short wide bed(as opposed to a stepside). Look in the classifieds, people list trucks for sale with a SWB all the time, at least here. :flipoff2:

WOW! somebody call the pirate police:D
Sorry I said it was a 77 feet long, wide bed(If it where 77 feet long I couldn't call it a short bed)

Anyways, I read bellavista's write up about highangle driveline, And they sound pretty cool. But I was just lookin for first hand experiance..
So (with my flame retardent suite on) does anybody have a big gay, Non-flexy Pos, That has a cool front shaft that holds up to a healthy beatin' in the mud??

Take your front end to a good race shop if you cant do this yourself. You want grind the welds that hold your outter C's to the axle tubes. Then have the whole chunk and tubes rotated up, figure you have about 9.5 deg. your trying to correct. IF you do this yourself, note that the tubes are steel but the outter C's are cast metal. The reason to do this is to leave the caster and camber angles alone.

most people i have seen w/ this problem convert to a d-vorced t-case & center it between the axles so the frt & rear d-shafts are equal lenght. this works very well in long wheel base rigs, but w/ u being in a swb u probably will not have the room.

Your in luck the 4 spd/205 is exactly what my bud ( Mr. Infinity ) runs in his truck with High Angle Drivelines 80 degree d-shaft. This is the only way to go but you can try other ways until you get fed up with the BS. Your pinion angle will not to be rotated up 15-18 degrees ( I been here myself ) but it's not on ( mr. Infinity's ) truck and he has done fine with his 383 stroker detroit/5:13 60 front.
I run the 203/205 doubler myself with a High angle 1410 front D-shaft with no problems but I'm only 1/2 of the height you are. Thanks Charlo for the steering plug....Back to my cleaning up around here because of that DAMN HURRICANE.... :(

how much of the lift is in the suspension?
no matter what driveshaft you use (or who makes it:rolleyes: ) you are going to have to pony up to get the dif turned.
fair bit of work needed in the pass side spring mount area in regards to studs.

SWB is short wheel base
box is fleetside or step side:rolleyes:

Thanks guys, We dicided on indexing the front end, And were going to convert the front output in the case to the 32 spline one, So we can get the 1410 yoke..

Having the work done to the axle is the best way to do what you are wanting. I was running out of time in my situation and went with the 80 degree shaft. It was suppose to be a temporary solution (wound up being 2 fawking years)
I can definitely suggest talking with Jesse either way you go, his shafts are awesome and the customer service is matched by no other. Put it this way, I don't know anybody that would pull there chrome show room piece to send to a customer overnight saturday delivery just so the guy can make a ride on Monday. He did, to me that says a lot.:D
