I've heard of peoples crappy welds coming apart, but other than that no problems.

One of my buddies ratchet welded his 14-bolt rear and he loves it, along with a welded front 44. He is running a 360 motor and gives it hell, and ever since he swapped warn shafts in up front he hasn't had any problems with 39's

Ditto the bad welds comment. I've heard of people trying to weld them with cheap 110v flux cored wire feeds. Well gee...what do you think is going to happen when you do that!? If the welds are of good quality, you shouldn't have any problems at all. A friend of mine is a professional welder and HAMMERS his truck and hasn't blown them up yet. Front and rear have been welded for several years.

I welded up my Toyota 4cyl Rear 3rd with a Lincoln 155 fkux core machine. I cranked up the heat and the spiders just melted together. I have 36" tires and a Chevy 350. Still holding up great. I give it hell too. :D
