FIXXXXAH 12-07-2001, 09:32 PM Got Any? As i near competion of peices for the engine/tranny swap, i need as many pics as possible of your engine mounts, especailly if your using a 420 behind it. Need to get an idea for what i need to fab up. Thanks, Matt:D
FIXXXXAH 12-09-2001, 05:13 PM Help me out here guys... i know you got some..
peterfj40 12-09-2001, 06:07 PM mine are the regular AA ones...i dotn have a digi cam so i cant post pics...just get some big angle iron and weld in some gussets (to make ones like AA),,or make some better ones (i'll be making my own too for the fj45!!)
FIXXXXAH 12-11-2001, 10:32 PM Thanks peter, but i just want a freaking picture. thats ALL i'm asking for now is one freakin picture, someone, PLEASE???
FJ4ZROX 12-12-2001, 07:22 AM I'll post one tonight when I get home. I'm using the AA ones too, but I also have a picture of the Butch Built ones on my PC at home.
dog walker 12-12-2001, 09:00 AM Here's a few from an FJ60 350 swap. Not AA, but custom made tube motor mounts.
dog walker 12-12-2001, 09:02 AM another
dog walker 12-12-2001, 09:03 AM one more.
FIXXXXAH 12-13-2001, 06:00 PM Thanks man, much apreciated. anyone have a pic of the AA ones? Peter, what are you going to do to improve on the design for the 45? Matt:D
peterfj40 12-13-2001, 06:40 PM instead of using AA ones, im thinking of making some..i like dogwalker's mounts and may make some like that..or make some like the AA ones..i'd rather use a stock style mount instead of the round donuts AA uses, since i've heard complaints that they squish out and dont last long...i'll post pics when i do them (may be a while)..i think im going to invest in a little red star and digi cam so i can post pics
bkcruiser 12-16-2001, 09:14 AM or simply weld extention to stock 350 motot plate, add a couple of urethene cj body mounts(shouldn't squish), and trhu bolt to relocated lc frame mount. simple and cheeap.

FIXXXXAH 12-16-2001, 09:33 AM Thats a new idea! how long have you been running that? do you get more engine movement than normal?

bkcruiser 12-16-2001, 04:41 PM motor movement? shouldn't happen as long as bolt holes do not ream out. anyway has to last longer than stock lc isolator that was previously mounted, before walker hill, rubicon pulled it apart. very scary to have loose motor, it pulls full throttle by itself!!
dog walker 12-17-2001, 08:39 AM instead of using AA ones, im thinking of making some..i like dogwalker's mounts and may make some like that..or make some like the AA ones..
Those mounts were built by Justin Reece, for his Vortec swap in his FJ60, for more info, you can contact him on this board. Goes by USFSIHC.

COOL!!! Jimmy where did you get that sucka???
just take some square tube notch it at the right angle, weld in some angle iron, drill a hole at the top and use stock 350 motor mounts. the mounts are very simple to make and pretty hard to screw up (plus they look stock)
i would post a pic but i don't have one and i can't post anyways

I know what you are talking about, and that's how I had planned on mounting them. But I was looking for other ideas too. I like the "Engine craddle" idea. Plus that would give me killer place to mount the frount of the belly pan to cover up that auto tranny pan. :D:D:D

Thanks
The Y pipe is 2 1/4" 321 stainless and all hand made and then it dumps into 2 1/2" which is a combination of cessna parts and home brew:D

That's what I'm using also. Seems to be the most simple/cost effective way. Those are my favorite words.:D
