I picked up a cheap "spare" SM465 for parts. Aside from the top cover having problems and the 10 spline 4wd output shaft stripping out, are there other known weaknesses of the SM465?

Has anyone broke the housing?

I'm debating whether or not to keep the housing since I'm running out of room in the storage bin:(

The only issues that the SM465 has, is the top cover shift rails, and the front output bearing cover. The bearing cover really isn't that much of a problem, the surface that the throwout bearing slides on usually wears out. You can get them new from a good transmission shop for $30......:skull:
