when you guys trim the fenders, do you leave the cut sheet meatal as is (with an edge on it), or is their a way to bend it back under like factory?

Ive seen some guys just leave the edge on it, sand off sharp edges and paint. Its not to hard to make a lip. Make a tape line on the edge, leaving a quarter in. or so below your tape line. Use that tape line as a guide and bite plier jaws at tape edge(evenly each bite) and bend in roughly to shape. Finish with hammer and dolly. Corners will be a bit trickier, and a torch will help alot,, but you can do it cold if you have to.

I just left them as is, but camocj is right, you can do it just like that. If you're going to trim inner and outer fenders, make sure you leave the inner fender a little longer to cover the gap inbetwen them. I made the mistake of not doing this on the waggy in the back, so I have a hole between the inner and outer fenders.

I just left them sharp and waited for little kids to walk into them.

I hit mine with a DA sander to take the "edge" off of them and haven't had any problems.

use a 4 inch angle grinder to cut then use it to round it off, ive done so many fenders now i dont even bother using anything else. also if you want a real nice finish cut 3/4 of an inch lower then you want and then after yer done fold the 3/4 back around a solid 1/4 inch rod you shaped to your fenders , youll have to cut slices in the 3/4 extra metal along bends for it to fold good . but when yer done just bondo it smooth and then paint and yer fenders will as good maybe better than they were new .

just leave them cut .From the factory there not just bent over there a crease and tabs and it bolts to the fender . if you really want to do it right cut out acenter section then weld the two pieces back together that
