Are these narrower than regular axles or is it the offset of the wheels that makes the track so narrow?

Are you talking about the railroad rigs used for maintainance? I think they are wheel offset but I am sure I am wrong.

I guess I just took it for granted that everyone would know what I was talking about. Sorry... LOL :cow:

A high rail truck is one that is capable of driving on the road OR riding on the rails. If you have ever noticed a high rail 1 ton pickup truck the track width is very narrow.

all the ones I've ever seen it's the wheel offset.

Damn that sucks. I was hoping that they were a source for narrow D60's.

They are standard D60's, just goofy offset wheels.

I think that rear Dana 60's that are under Scout pickups are pretty narrow. Dana 60's from Cherokees are kinda narrow. Also, I guess its possible to get a Dana 60 rear from a dually. Anybody want to confirm or deny this?

scout pickups=?
cherokee= cherokee's never came with a d60. some of the heavy j-trucks did but not the cherokees.
d60 dually= well it depends. a standard dually rear is the same as a standard single rear wheel. i have found 1 what appeared to be cab and chassis dually rear in a j/yard that measured like 62" wide. it has 4.56's but only the 19 spline shafts so i left it.

if you want something narrow you'll probably have better luck finding a 62"-63" wide chevy cab and chassis 14bolt.
