Come on Paul everyone here is required to do a sas and run at least 38s you mall poser read the rules. My gal wants me to put 31s or I told her 35in. boggers and a 6in. susp. and 3in body. lift. So what is the best way to clear 33s on a 92? I can just run the superlift 5.5 and fit 33in mts right? I really want to run 33-14.5 dick cepeks on Weld Scorpios or Outbacks. I dont think they will fit the body though. What do you think? You will be running 35s so did you do a gear swap? What did you go to if you did and what do these things come with usually?

First I'll tell you what I've got and then I'll answer your questions.

Front: 6" Skyjacker coils with new version Superlift extended radius arms and 1/4" coil spacers and Black Diamond XT shocks for 6.5" lift. Using 2.5 degree shims for alignment and Superlift SuperRunner steering. Modified Superlift crossmember and old style Superlift drop brackets. Air locker with 4.10 gears, stock length driveshaft.

Rear: SOA with OME 2" lift springs and RS 5000's (I hate these things) for 8"+ lift. Air locker with 4.10's, disc brakes, T/A axle girdle. Driveshaft lengthened approx. 7" (59" long)

Misc other shit: Heavy duty 130 amp alternator, rebuilt A4LD transmission with heavy duty clutches and planetaries, shift kit and increased line pressure.

Ramps 868 on a 20 degree and 637 on a 30. Ramps 590 with swaybars attached. I can climb pretty much any rock that I can get my front bumper over.

It's all pretty simple but it works and it is still comfortable to drive on the street or take long trips with.

Now on to your questions.

No SAS for me until the Dana 35 has a catastrophic failure.

You don't need a body lift to run 35's a 6" lift and a little fender trimming will work. Besides, body lifts are for fags.

You should be able to run 33's with a Superlift 5.5" lift. It may rub a little bit but rub shmub, as long as it is not a sharp edge who cares?

Not sure about the wheels you are asking about but my 33x12.50 Thornbirds on stock Ford 15x7 wheels were 13 3/4" wide.

I will stick with the 4.10's. no need to re-gear. When I get around to doing my engine swap I will get better gearing because of the transmission and transfer case I will be using. Explorers came with 2.73, 3.08, 3.27, 3.55, 3.73 or 4.10 with or without rear L/S from the factory. Mine originally had 3.27's. 4.56 are available for the front and rear, 4.30, 4.88, 5.13 are available for the rear but not front.

Have you checked out the www.explorer4x4.com and it's message board www.explorerforum.com? There is a ton of info there and if you look in the For Sale section I think there are a couple of used Superlift 5.5" kits right now.

Did you read my post on Snort? If you did then you should come along and you can look at several lifted Explorers all at once.

Actually I traded them for a case of beer, a box of cracker jacks, last month's Penthouse magazine (complete with pages stuck together) and a big bag of peanuts. :flipoff2:

I had 17 people tripping over themselves trying to buy my tires.  I'm as shocked as you are. Maybe I wasn't asking enough?

Congrats on the tires Paul.

As for the lift and tire question, I'm now running 35's with about 5-5.5" of lift and some trimming. I SAS'd the front though, and got rid of the Stupidlift.
