I'm about to order a couple of these (14") for the rear of my d90 ( heavy - tdi300 SW with ex. roll cage).
Any idea what valving should I go? I use it as my daily driver and i don't want it to be too hard. on the other hand, I don't want it to bounce in all directions while offroading, so what would be the best compormise?

another thing, does anybody knows the weight of a 7100?

I have a Td5 110 with 12" 7100's in the rear, with the hardest stock setting. I consider them on the soft side, especially on pavement in a truck with 90mm lift and 35.5" bias Super Swampers. The sway and self steer in the rear axle goes from scary fully loaded, to manageable with and empty truck. Heavier custom valving and/or a stiff sway bar with disconnects will fix it, I think.

On a 90, I would go with either the same or next hardest setting, depending on how cushy you want the ride to be.

Don't know the exact weight, but they are heavy.

360/80 is a good place to start. I wouldn't go softer (e.g. 245/78, etc.) Remember they are raked on a D90 by about 10 degrees if my memory serves me. That makes the valving 10% less effective.

way,
i've noticed in previous posts that you have revalved your 7100 a few times, what's the current set up. i'd like to change the rears of my D1.

I have a VERY unique set-up. I run about 420ish. About 25% stiffer than what I recommended. I did this as my shocks are heavily raked forward. I would NOT copy my set-up though. I am debating switching a lot of things around for my rear axle set-up next spring. At that time I plan to make some changes to allow me to run a more normal shock configuration, etc.
