Do you think it would work if you had 2 round dies with the centre one on a pivot (being able to turn or not ) and the outer one rotating around the outer side like a clock. (for tube this is)
Looking at the Jd series which we don't get in Australia the die drags the tube through the die and aluminium plate that rests against the die.
So bascially you are just bending the tube around a die rather than pulling it through.
What do you think ?

yes, this is the same as or similar to a JD -
I have purchased a bender which was made a millon years ago, very well built gear driven.
it was used for pipe, the main difference i see is tube and pipe dies are obviously different sizes.
it has a centre pin (2inch) which has a key way in it, then a arm about 2 ft long slid onto the pin via the key way.
The arm is powered and rotates around in a full continuous 360 degrees. (these dies are all round)
One die goes on the centre pin (this just sits on the pin, this die is not on a key way but will spin freely.
The arm has various pin holes to fit different size dies in different positions along the length of the arm.
Hope all this make sence - so what you have is something looking like a clock, one die in the centre another sitting along the length of the arm, the outer die spins as it rotates around the die in the centre.
Sorry for the long story

it works great for pipe but the outer edges of the dies dont touch - i was trying to work out before i go making dies whether the tube being thinner wall will work the same.
