Okay, my Samurai has a double cardan rear driveshaft that was on with my SPOA with stock springs. After I swapped to YJ springs, Brent (from TT) told me I would need to make up for 1" of driveshaft in the rear. I don't want a whole new shaft right now because I'll probably be getting new axles within a year or so. My question is this: Can I run a 1" spacer with the double cardan in the rear, or will the angle be too much? I know you shouldn't run a rear spacer with a stock shaft, but didn't know if the double cardan would make it doable. Thanks. ~Steve

Hi Steve -
Making up 1" of driveshaft length is based on installing YJ's VS the stock SPUA configuration. If you had your double cardan driveshaft made the appropriate length for a SPOA on your other Samurai, then it would already be correct for our YJ suspension.

Thanks Brent,
I'm assuming it was made for the correct length with the SPOA, but I'm unsure. It has a lot more spline showing than I feel comfortable with. Could I run a 1" spacer, or would I be in the same boat that I would be with no double cardan? I'm thinking this because I have (2) 1" spacers and your 1" extd yoke. I'm thinking of putting one of the spacers on the rear, and for the front, put the remaining spacer on the transfer case side and use the extd yoke, if it would work?
Also, I didn't notice until today when trying to put on new u-bolts, but one of the u-bolt plates I got with your kit is longer than the other three. Is this right? The picture on your site also shows this, I just don't know why. Can you help me clarify? Also, is there a certain place I need to mount this one if it is right? Thanks for all the great customer service, Brent, and for putting up with all my stupid questions. :D The Mighty Kong looks great on the Sammy! ~Steve

Hi Steve -
The larger u-bolt plate goes on the right front - the spring is very close to the 3rd member on that corner and so the u-bolts are larger. It is hard to know what driveshaft you are using. Normally CV driveshafts have a different bolt pattern that what your spacer would have. On the front, the slip yoke and spacer with the original Suzuki driveshaft would work fine.

I checked it out when he came to my house a while ago. It is a Toyota C/V I can't remember how much slip yoke was showing. How much is showing Squirrelman? If I remember right toys have about 5-6"s of spline. Your flanges are more than likely redrilled to fit the 'Yota flanges. You would have to measure the bolt pattern.
Thanks,

It does have a different bolt pattern than the spacer, so never mind on using that spacer. I don't have it bolted up right now, but I think it had about an 1.5" of spline showing out of the about 4" of spline that it has. Will I be okay running it this way, or do I need more spline than that in the yoke? I'm assuming I will need an extended yoke or something, but have no idea where to get it. Thanks for the help. ~Steve

1.5"s should be fine. I would recomend disconnecting your rear driveshaft when you tow it since the front turns too with the t-case in Neutreal. I don't know how the drive shaft angle is with TT's kit but it is still wise to remove the rear shaft.
