You can buy them from Art Carr directly. Another name for them is Winters shifters. Two different names same shifter. The mounting is simple the come with their own housing.

sweeet.. i am in the market right now for a shifter for my TF727.. and the only experience i have is with the b&m mega shifter.. and that thing sucked ass... i like the design of the art carr.. but damn.. that thing is pricey for a shifter..
keep these opinions coming..

and doc.. i like what you did with that shifter...

I got a killer deal on it with the aluminum cover and it is a nicely built piece "IF" you drag race :D that reverse lockout is not my idea of fun when you arer trying to rock yourself out of a stuck. So i got rid of the fawker :flipoff2: I realy like the way the gates work now.

if i had the cash i would get the Art Carr but i am a cheap bastid, the modified Pro-Stick fit my wallet better.

Tell him Matt with pirate4x4.com sent you and you will get 10% off. I will be doing a writeup on one as soon as the bastard at Sony send my broken POS laptop back with the install pics.

I put one on my 4runner that has a 700R4. This is the smoothest, easiest to use shifter I have EVER had. I will buy nothing else.

I'm looking for one too. Anyone see if we can get a deal on the Art Carr shifter? I saw above 10% off, but at around $250, that's only $25.. Not complaining (much), but maybe some dealer can hook us all up?????
Anyone??

I'll get flamed for this, I always do.... but I know several guys who run the B&M unimatic and they love it. Less than $100.

Hate to miss a chance at a flame. :p

I removed a perfectly good B&M and installed the Art Carr. You get what you pay for and the B&M sent me into fits of rage every time I tried to change gears fast.

Rage during wheeling=broken parts
broken parts=$$$ spent :D

The Art Carr is a very nice shifter, and yes you do get what you pay for. I run a B&M Sport shifter and have been happy with it, much better than the Unimatic I had before that.

I can't say what's a good one, but I'll second the idea that the MegaShifter is NOT what you want. The ratchet action would be fine if it worked well, but mine never did. Almost like the detents in the shifter didn't line up with the detents in the trans. I hated it.

damn, i was thinking about getting a megashifter for my 700r4... thanks for the heads up. Any other recommendations other than the $pendy art carr? Only real criteria is that it needs to be cable operated and not super spendy. :D
