I don't want stock measurements but I'd like to see what most people here set theres at when they did a SOA or turned the knuckles, etc.
Thanks.

-6*, it was positive 2 before the swap and I could not steer it even with an ARG pump and box. Make sure your caster is correct and steering will not be an issue.

On my FJ40 the caster on the cut and turned SOA is +4 degrees.

I am not sure where I will end up on the Dana 60s for the new project

Nolen.. I think you have your caster signs reversed. Positive caster is required. Negative caster is bad. Positive caster is defined as the axis of the kingpin tilted to the rear.

Roger that!

Looks like leaning the "kingpins" back by 3.5 degrees on the hybrid frontend I am finishing up for sixgun will work out just fine.
Thanks

I keep hearing that +6 degrees is about right for the Dana 60, kingpin style axles -- a little more caster than most of us put on our Cruiser axles. Anyone with Dana's care to respond with their experiences.

Nolen, I am assuming that Sunray set your new axle up with a +6 degree caster. Is that correct?

I sure learn a lot from this BB -- thanks folks, you are great!

You are correct 6* + caster, it tracks soooooo good on the road with the SR and proper caster.

Tires at 6 lbs and the wheelbase at 100", I have a good mind to lose the Tractor engine and start driving this bitch to the trail

Dave when I got my alignment at the tire shop the max and min were on the report it was max 6deg.+ min 2deg.+ I told Rick that I wasnt sure and I found that paper. That is on a Jeep and those are stock dimensions. even though I run d44

It kind of sucks hearing this now since I just finished my front and set it at + 2*.What is stock *. I was running about -2 to 3* before the soa and it sucked on the road. I was always blaming it on the boggers but I think it may have been the caster now.

Sweet!! Tankota we'll go with your idea of using the existing perches and the shims I'm currently employing in my front end.....I've blown $40.00 in perches in the last 2 months and people are starting to look at me funny. It sounds like +3 1/2 deg will put us right on the money and like you mentioned, we won't have to deal with bending U bolts to get the short side snug.

Watch those damn Aluminum shims, mine lasted 2 rides and they were flat as a pancake! Made my Ubolt loosen up and I broke both center leaf spring pins.

I hear ya Wngrog, but unfortunatley I can't seem to get away from the damn things, I haven't squashed one yet, but I'll keep a close eye on the U bolts.
