What vehicles do the 1.6L 16v engines come out of and what does it take to install them in a sammi? Is there a kit needed?

Thx

TT makes the wiring for it. The motor comes out of 92-95 Suzuki and Geo Tracker for the OBD1. OBD2 was 96 and up, I think that you have to use the 92-95 dist. and wiring.

Thx, for the info. So all I need is just the motor and it just bolts straight in no mods? Are the mounts the same or do I need to manufacture some? Also is the wiring harness usable from the 16v engine?

It's not a straight bolt in but is doable for your typicaly 3-4 banana shade tree howler monkey.

You need to adapt to the Samurai transmission if you don't use a TracKick tranny. Most of the vendors sell a kit for this.

There are wiring issues related to getting the EFI harness attached to the Sam harness. It can be done yourself but if you don't feel confident/comfortable with electrical stuff TrailTough is the only manuf that I know of that makes a harness.

The motor mounts are slightly different (I think). You can fab something up or the kits will probably have the required bits.

The 16V is a tall engine compared to the 8V engine. If you make your own mounts watch your hood clearance.
