....In everything I've ever seen en run in. You can watch the cv's @ the knuckle and it goes backwards when the truck is going forwards.
Sooo.. I'm either really lost or not thinking straight this morning. Wouldnt you have to run some weird t-case or rev. rotation motor to get the pinion spinning the wrong direction to spin the cv's backwards??? someone please enlighten me.

yeah cause there is another gear inside the knuckle which reversews the direction while reducing the gear ratio

yeah but. how does the pinion-axleshaft-cv rotate backwards to get the reduction gear to turn forwards? :rasta:
Edit: are you saying that there is a gear in the inner knuckle @ the end of the axleshaft before the CV?
edit2: going to search the exploded 404 diagram in BVs section. (guess i couldah started there to begin with eh?)

How wide are they? 84" and they are U1300. U1300 don't come with drum brakes that i know of. 406/416 axles are 69" wide I beleive and come in Disk and drum versions. That's the quick and dirty way to tell what you have. How is it you have a set of mog axles and don't know what they are? Freebies?

Sound like/406/416 then. Are you using them, or are you planning on selling? I need a pair of U1300 or 406/416s. What kind of shape are they in since it was sight unseen?

baah hahaha. DOWN DOGS DOWN!!
I will be using the two fronts, and stealing parts off of the two rears.
They are in pretty rough condition, 3 sat with no pinion in them for a few years in TX. they were face down so they never filled up with water, but they did rust from the humidity. There is one perfect R & P but the other 3 arent all that great. Hopefully the bead blaster will work a miracle and clean them up decent. If not, I think that a few port-9's will be fabbed. I need to tear into them and see just how bad they are inside.
