: Just got back from the J-town TFT run
Mudpuppy 12-09-2001, 04:56 PM Just got home ran some trails today with Triangle and the Mudbabbies from Johnstown today. Had a good time. Alll the jeeps made it ok Two chevys we let tag a long broke and a big full sized ford need to stack rocks and still ripped a side wall but everyone made it home. I will post a few pictures after I am done practicing in the practice area.
PS I also got to see where the milkman rolled. I was impressed

Mel85CJ 12-10-2001, 10:42 AM Where did milkman roll before? Was it on the obstacle he is on in the latest picture? Or elsewhere?

pokey 12-10-2001, 11:14 AM Looks like a good time Rick. Also looked like the hummer was having a little trouble getting through the tight spots. heh heh!

Welby 12-10-2001, 11:27 AM Rick,
Not sure about anyone else, but I was very disappointed with this years T-F-T run :(
I could have ran the entire thing in 2wd, if dogging the engine wasn't an issue. I didn't realize how much of the trail was now off-limits, and the only things left seem to be graded dirt roads.
Last year was a blast due to the amount of snow on the ground, but this year really stunk... This isn't a gripe about the Mud Babies or Triangle, because they just worked with what they had. There's just nothing to work with anymore :(
I ran with the more equipped group, while the newbie Jeepers left a little while before. If what we ran was the difficult stuff, then I'd hate to see what the newbies ran (gravel? )
I've been there many times, and while there's nothing difficult in the whole run (The now off-limits rock garden is the only thing I can think of), it's just far too easy now. Especially for a 50 mile drive to get there....
I'll chalk it up as it being for a good cause, and hopefully my toy will make a little kid happy, but next year, I'm out unless there's alot of snow to make it interesting *SIGH*....:usa:
Mel85CJ 12-10-2001, 11:40 AM Was this rock garden off limits?

I was having trouble recognizing where you guys ran, other than the picture of the milkman coming down off that ledge.

Welby 12-10-2001, 11:50 AM That's the one... The trail on both ends leading to that area is now posted off with a sign saying "Closed to motorized vehicles", or something like that. Whatever the terminology, it sucks :(
Mudpuppy 12-10-2001, 01:29 PM Milk man rolled right in that area but not on that obsticle.
Where he rolled I think would challange anybody. Although now I am going to have to try it this suumer  I will probably get my first roll there too. this one upside down :jeep:
Mudpuppy 12-10-2001, 01:33 PM Welby come on up here some tiem when you can spend a day or two. I gurrantee I will find you something that is fun. I know a few places even on the trail we ran. They run easy crap cause there are enough people that want to go on the harder run that are still pretty stock and they don't want to wipe no one out. Although I don't know why they made us sigh a waiver
JohnBuuu 12-10-2001, 06:02 PM any more pics of the white XJ?
~John
Mudpuppy 12-10-2001, 06:18 PM this is from a differnet run but it shows that he is willing to try differnent stuff
JohnBuuu 12-10-2001, 06:24 PM any pics from the same run?
Mudpuppy 12-10-2001, 06:36 PM not really why? the run was not that exciting it was just for a good cause
JohnBuuu 12-10-2001, 06:41 PM just wanted to check out a pretty cool looking xj, thats all.
milkman 12-11-2001, 09:01 AM For the Record,
The T.F.T. run is a good cause.. BUT it was lame this year... the rock garden is off limits.. I agree.. this is not against my club of Mudbabies... we just dont have alot to work with. Always count me in for the ride because its for a good cause ... but thats it!! the only real fun I had was I GOT TO USE MY IMPACT WRENCH / AIR SYSTEM TO CHANGE A TIRE ON SOMEONE ELSES RIG!!!!!!!!!!!
