Hey man!

Where did that come from? I like it a lot, but it is a hell of a project.

What is your plan?

That sliding pan hard bar, what is that for? Help stabalize the front or what? Thanks

Nolen!

You may want to readdress your salutation with Hey Woman! or Hey Lady! <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

Congrats, Ige! That's cool. Everyone daydreams about owning a "set" - fj25, fj40, fj45, fj55, etc. You're getting there.

Can't wait to see progress pics.

Can you fill us in on the differences between the US and non-USA versions of the SWB?

aaahhhh, yes, it will be a project, but at least the body's in good shape (except for the coveted tailgate and the rear lower body strip, but that should be easy to deal with).
i'm thinking of a 2f setup, mild lift with 34x9.5's, tan/brown, but that's basically it.
as for the differences, mine don't have heaters (i actually got 1 1/2 of them). they came from south america, so i guess they didn't need them there. other than that, 45's are new to me, so i don't really know what else to look for. i know it was brought in through texas about 26 years ago and it was a farm truck down there for 23 years until someone else bought it to try to restore and ran out of time & dough. we'll see what time brings for it.

yeah, the panhard bar does a lot to stabilize the front end in cornering (high speed). because it slides, it doesn't limit articulation, but the shock helps put pressure on it at higher speeds to keep the front end from swimming underneath you. my "little brother" built and tested the model in the pic and he's a typical 22+ year old boy...corners his soa cruiser at 30+mph all the time with no problems.

YIEHAA baby! my 45 p/u is in about the same shape or worse but it's only going to get to play in the rocks so who cares. i do dig the collection though!
let's see some pics of the buildup.
