A good buddy of mine is building a cj7 and needs info, he is swaping a amc 360 out of a wagoneer into it and would like to go with a auto tranny. I know there will be huge issues with drive lines and all but how can he do this with little effect. trannys so far in question are: th400, 727, t999, also what t-case 300/20 and how to adapt.
if i were to do this i would use a c4 with 300, but thats because i run a 5.0

get a tf 727 from an 80's modle waggy. the tranny will bolt up and a dana300 will bolt right up to the back of it. no adapters needed.:D

ok with me, 727 is a very tough tranny. you could do no wrong with a t- flight! better than a GM sh*tbox!:flipoff2: and you can swap a 300 behind it as said before................

got a 727 in my j truck. works great. have a np208, chain drive i know but has been plenty strong for me so far and has 2.6 or so low range
