I have SUA and have two RS 5000's at each corner and was wondering if i could just take of the leaf springs? If i did, what would i have to do? I am just wondering because it is a way bumpy ride and wanted to make softer. I have seen a few heeps with no leafs and was wondering about it. Is it good, bad? Thanx for helping me.

Remove the shocks while you're at it. Those RS5000s are stiff!

what i'm asking is: could i run just the two shocks at each wheel without the leafs?

Take one of those double shocks off. That is most likely why your ride is so stiff. (there could be other reasons but dual 5000s is an obvious problem).

If I'm reading your post correctly, as to taking off your leaf springs...you would need to put on coil springs and a 3 or 4 link setup.
Without your leaf springs there would be nothing holding your front or rear end in place and nothing to hold your frame and body up above your axles.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is NO. The leaf spring packs serve to locate the axle in this type of suspension. If you remove the spring packs nothing will hold the axles in their proper orientation. Shock absorbers certainly won't do it. Suspension systems without full leaf springs (e.g., coil or 1/4 elliptical) rely upon control arms or "links" to hold the axle assembly in position fore - aft and from side to side.

Please forgive the BW if I misunderstood the question.

take one or both of those rs5000's off..my spring under was great w/ out my shocks on and i had rs9000's (i only ran it this way for a littl while, one shock got ripped off on the 'con)..get rid of the dual rs5000's, either just use one, or get some rs9000's and crank them low for the spring under

if somone could help me with this it would be nice, i want to do it tonight. Should i have it so that FL is in front of the axle and FR is behind? same with rear, or how should i do it?

Keep both the shocks on one side of the axle.
And remove the other shocks on the other side of the axle.
If I follow you right you have a shock mounted to the front side and back side of the axle.
Just remove all the shocks that are mounted to the front of both axels.

Run only one shock per wheel.

ahhhh...I see.
I'm not sure which shock to remove out of the duals...maybe try it out a couple of different ways.

Note that the IFS toyota pickups had their rear shocks mounted so one was in front of the axle and one behind the axle. I've heard it said that this is to help control axle wrap (although only a little).
