: Will fine spline side gears fit into a spare coarse spline 3rd member?

The project is to put a 67 third member in a 76 front end (i.e. disks).

The 76 frontend didn't come with a third member.
The 67 frontend has a third member with coarse spline side gears and I have spare fine spline side gears.

Will these fine spline side gears fit just fine (no pun intended <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> ) in place of the coarse spline side gears?


Yah, probably will have to drill out the bolt holes in the third....no biggy.

Yes they will, but you will have to bust out the drill and attach a 3/8" drill bit and drill out the 10 third member mounting holes to fit onto the 76 housing.
