I've had a new job for last couple of months that includes working weekends. Now I cant get together with any of my wheeling friends and hit the trails.

Actualy my whole weekend life has gone to shit. But I miss wheeling with the buds the most...

How do you get around it?

*cough*

I don't feel so good, I don't think I will be into work today.

:D

Actually, I just ask for a Sat. off and usually get it.

I was about to say I love the cold, but thats TOO damn cold...I work 9pm to 5:30am, add on another 2 hours for driving time.

Isnt it really fun to get home around 6:30 am on Saturday and realize the WHOLE F'ing planet is sleeping except you. So much for having a beer after work with the buds....

I love working weekends....overtime on Saturday, double-time on Sundays

actually, since we are scheduled for a 4-10 work week right now, I worked this past Friday and it was overtime. Saturday would have been double-time (if worked) and Sunday would have been double-time and a half.:flipoff2:

I like having about 10 hours overtime and still having Sat. & Sun. off though. That's the best.

If Im reading this right you are bitching about having to work weekends at a job you took that requires you to work weekends? Maybe if you complaine enogh to the government they will pass a law outlawing working weekends so that you can be happy. Maybe even have them throw in overtime after 4 hours to make you even happier. If working weekends suck so bad go get a new job.

I get well compensated for working weekends when required, so I look at it as free time shifting. In the last two years I have worked enough weekends + overtime to take 2 months off with pay last year and 4 months this year.:D

I have to work weekends too. And the shifts I have to work (0530-1400 or 1330-1000) screws everything up.

It sucks...

I don't mind working weekends. I do it alot. The way I see it, I work weekends to buy myself days off for events I really want to attend. I also make a few extra bucks.

Example: working weekends bought me time off for the B-day Bash 2 weeks ago. I had plenty of cash to bring because of the weekends I put in and I didn't fawk myself up financially by missing 4 days of work.

Besides, I love my job so it isn't so hard to go to work.

Don't feel bad. In order for me to go to school, I work fri thru mon. I either work from roughly 0430-1500 or from 1230-2300. Yes that is right swing shift and weekends. So a weekend every now and then is not actually that bad compared to my schedule.

I work 10, 24 hr shifts a month leaves lots of time for wheelin' may be hard sometimes and does include some weekends but for every 3 shifts I get 4 days off pretty cool when you think about it I get mini vacations all the time. I also get 10 personal days a year that means that I get a bonus day for almost every month except for 2. Only problem is getting the events to coordinate with my schedule. Usually I can arrange my personal days with an event so that I will either get 3 days off if it lands on a work day or 6 days off if it lands on my usual time off. Ho hum.....
:flipoff2:
edit: by-the-way I am working right now, started at 0800a Sunday and will be here until 0800a Monday will do the same on Tuesday and Thursday then I am going to Disney World on Friday to Thursday.... ohya

RockRanger I am sorry you have PMS...:flipoff2:

Offrhoder4x4 I am sorry you have to sell all of your stuff to keep the house. Is it nice to have a house? I wouldnt know.

I cant really even ask for days off. There's only two people in the whole company that know how to do this job. And other guy has been here a long time, he gets to choose who gets what days off.

You mean that there are people that actually have to work weekends,.......damn, and I thought that it was a volunteer thing:flipoff2:

In all actuality, I can't remember the last weekend that I had to work.......I think it was my last deployment in 98, but you can't really count that because for six months everyday is a Monday:D :D

I work 3-2-2-3, 12s from 1900-0700 one month than 0700-1900 the other. So every other weekend is a 3 day weekend. I go wheelin' during the week sometimes with some guys who work weekends, it not too bad.
