I have a Cherokee D44 rear axle and I want to conver to Disk Brakes.
Does anyone know where I could get the disc that will fit my bolt pattern? What trucks have the same bolt pattern with Disk brakes?

Thanks

I just got my set from TSM..

The brackets are nice and the install is pretty simple.. The hardest part so far was getting the brackets on right..

if you do not want an ebrake then use small GM calipers, Monte carlo (79), Newer 89ish camero ETC,

If you want an ebrake then go with a cad Eldro caliper..

How much do those calipers go for? I was thinking of using Dana 30 disks and using the Dana 30 calipers & pads. I just need to buy the bracket. I was also thinking of geting a small cable actuated caliper for the parking brake.

That's the best way, IMHO :flipoff2:

The calipers were 30 each bucks loaded.. I went to a local junk yard here and got the banjo bolts..

What master cylinder are you using? Did you have to swap in something else, or use some kind of a proportioning valve? I am considering doing this swap to my wagoneer 44's on my 2A.

Just got finished with the TSM install on my new 9". Calipers were $39 at autozone with $80 core per side. Go to PNP and get old calipers for $12 a piece and use those as core. My XJ with 35s will now stop near a dime (not quite on it). It will lock up all 4 wheels. Take you time with bleeding the rears, it's a pain.

Have any of you that have done the rear disc conversion had any problems with the wheel bearings going out? I did mine, and within a week the bearings were grinding... I pulled it apart, and the right side was trashed. After replacing both sides and making sure that they were properly lubed, I drove it home, and its started grinding yet again... any ideas?

Jeepintim.

I am staying with manual brakes on my CJ so heres what I am running..

68 Vette Manual M/C 1 1/8 bore, 4 wheel discs.
Front GM/Waggon discs.
Rear GM/Tsm Discs

Front calipers are off a 76 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4.. Large GM caliper
Rear Calipers are 78 ishMonte carlo fronts.. small GM caliper

Not sure on the poportioning valve, I am either not going to run one or run a GM truck one..

I am leaning towards teh GM truck.

How did you set yours up? My rear discs uses teh standad wheeling bearings on the axles.. It sounds like there is other problems.. The rear wheel bearings get there lube from teh Diff, not form packing them, All tho its a good idea to lube them.

Hey Guys,

I got the TSM kit 2 years ago and the kit they offer now is MUCH more beefy. I got another kit from a guy on ebay that I was 100 less for another axle. Sorry for the poor quality pics: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=945140&a=14040108

He offers for a bunch of aps and here's his FSJ kit.
