Thoughts??
IMHO - Fiberglass is great for the occasional wheeler, holds up well to minor bumps, scraps, etc. The way I drive steel is the only answer. :D
Anyone running fiberglass?

Not yet, but I plan to.
I have one set of FG quarters and one set of steel quarters awaiting installation.
I've been trying to decide which rig should get which.
I'm leaning towards putting the 'glass on my trail rig, and the steel on my race rig.
The theory is the race rig is less likely to bump up against trees n' such, so the sheetmetal should stay straight longer.
Of course, if I hit another rig, or flop it, the sheetmetal will get dented.. but then the 'glass would explode in that kind of situation.
Put the 'glass on the trail rig so it'll remain dent-free until I break 'em.
To avoid breaking the glass, I'm considering adding some cage-work inside the quarters, so the fiberglass will flex like it's supposed to, but only a little bit, at which point it'll contact a "rub-rail" inside the quarter, keeping the 'glass from flexing to the breaking point.
Either that, or I'm going to buy a gross of dzus fasteners. I can get new 'glass quarters at a pretty good price.. just keep two sets. One on the rig, one getting patched. :D

Hey now, no comments from the peanut gallery. My 32's and SUA made it, I just had to drive by braille. At least my rig goes over 45 on the freeway despite the sheet metal work. :D

I'am running fiberglass 1/4's on my trail Terra, and the last time i laid it on its side, all of the trucks weight was on the driverside 1/4 sitting on a 4 foot sharp rock for about 15 min, and all it did was scratch it, never broke it. The fiberglass 1/4's are twice the thickness of the steel panels so i think they are just as strong, Also the fiberglass panels are eaiser to fix if you do break them and you don't have to worry about warping them or pulling dents like the steel panels, they are also eiser to cut down and make look good. When i first went this route i thought they would be weaker (you think of race car fiberglass (thin) when you think fiberglass panels) but after 3 years of wheeling and a roll over, i think fiberglass is the way to go for me.
