I am having a problem with the headlights on my 88 K1500. The bright lights work fine, but when I pull the dimmer switch on the turn signal, the headlights go OUT. The switch feels 'mushy' and if I feather the switch gently the low beams will light but go out again when I take my hand off the switch.
I picked up a new dimmer 'SWITCH' from the parts store, but I have no idea where it goes under the dash or if there is an easy way to replace it? Is the problem like in this SWITCH or do I need a new multi function stalk?

Any advise is appreciated!!!

i have the problem with my head light switch, loose wire, from what i understand, some one else told me that they use a contact switch. best way is take off the dash, not to bad in my 89k1500.

i replaced the headlight switch itself not too long ago. i am pretty sure its the dimmer.... just need ome advise on replacing it....

It should be under the dash on the steer column.
there is a rod that comes into it.
