I need more lift now that I've got bigger tires. I can currently fit 36" TSLs with no problems, however, my new 38.5s will not fit without more lift.
Before you answer the question as to which springs I should use (stock cruiser or wagoneer) , take a look at how the truck has been modified.
I've currently got a SOA using blazer springs (with a 2" body lift).
Reasons for using blazers springs:
1) I didn't have any stock cruiser springs (still don't)
2) my SUA lift springs were starting to sag a little and were longer than stock (at times my front shackle would go completely horizontal forwards)
3) My spring and shackle hangers and frame were all screwed up from some previous owners major HACK job
4) At the time I wanted a low profile (height wise) SOA. This SOA gives about 3.5" of lift.
If I use the wagoneers,
*the center pins are offset similar to a cruiser spring
*they are longer and easier to find in junkyards.
If I use the cruisers,
*they may give more lift than I need
* I may have to modify the mounts (PITA) for the springs to fit them on the cruiser)
What do you think?
