As I am taking a bite of my sandwich I read the ad; FOR SALE 1979 F350 4x4, runs good, $500. I damn near choked on my lunch as I fell out of my chair! Called the guy up and he has the nerve to tell me that a guy just bought it and is driving it out of the driveway right now. Damn, just missed! Kind of like loosing the ARCA finals by one point. To miss it is one thing but it sucks a lot more to be sooo close but still come up short. Its really no big deal but since you dont GET IT, just still me its sold instead of just missed it! WE collect at work when it getts high and we missed winning $25 mil by 1 # :mad: we all go $450 ( 11 of us ). It would of been $75000 ( divided by 11 ) but 23 other people hit 5 #'s that week also. I guess thats better than nothing. Benny 12-11-2001, 05:46 AM My brother found an ad in the paper that said "parting out such and such truck, engine, tranny, body, call this number" so he calls. turns out to be a 327. my brother asked how much. he says "um.. well houw about $250. My brother is like, is it blown up? he says "no, it runs great. about 10k on a rebuild" My brother Tells him that he IS gonna buy it and when is the soonest he can pick it up. The guy is like "well, I have to pull it out still, so come on Sunday at 2:30 and I will have it ready for ya" then my brother says again "OK, sounds great, I AM BUYING IT!!!, so dont sell it to anyone else" Well, my brother headed out at 1:45 on sunday and called his house on the way only to find out that the guy sold it to someone else. Damn, was my brother pissed. Running or not, it was a good deal. I wanna make random phone call to the bastards house at 2 - 5 am :D | |
