*Old Post* I choose the detroit, got it today.*

What locker is everyone running there dana 60. I am rebuilding a 60 right now and can't decide on what locker to install a detroit, arb, or ox locker. I will have hydro assist so steering difficulty is not a problem. What do you recomend?

sorry it is for the front. What are the pros and cons of welding the front. I might just go with an arb.

If you weld the front, you will have in essence no turning radius. Because your wheels will be trying to turn and pull forward. You'll have no differentation. It really sucks. Your rig will push through corners. And oh yeah, it will still act up even if you have a twin stick. Because your twin stick just disengages your driveshafts and not your diffs. So it will still push through corners unless you disengage front wheel drive then get out and unlock your hubs. Not fun. Just put an ARB or something in the front. Oh yeah, one more thing. Stay away from OX, those things really blow!!!

currently spool, anyone wanna do a trade plus cash (I pay of course) for a 35 spline detroit? If it wasn't for the fact that my rig is back to being a DD I'd keep it. Extremely reliable - never unlocks ;)

Actually with my TSL's I couldn't tell it was there, but I put on some BFG's for driving on the road and.. well now I can tell it is there. I am looking at the selectable lockers but for the money I dunno, I think a detroit would probably be the best bet

Welded, and good turning radius with hydro steer.

If you run a welded diff or spool up front, unlock your hubs and just run RWD, will this damage the hubs? I mean they are not supposed to be unlocked with the 4wd engaged. and having a spool or solid diff forcing them to turn is in essence the same thing? Im probably :rasta: . The thought just crossed my mind. I have always run spool and flanges and just throttled my way around turns.

Why not just run a lock right in the front? Has anyone broken one?

I say weld it.....mines held up fine with the 35 spline shafts, slugs and turning 44's. Full hydro-steering is a must though.

Why would it matter if the hubs are unlocked and the tcase in 4wd? The only thing that will happen is the front driveshaft and axles will turn but not power the wheels...

spools are bulletproof and reliable so someone trade me their detroit for my spool ;)

Depends on what ya do with it, if I wasn't driving to work daily with my truck I'd stick with the spool - but I am so detroit here I come..
