1.96-1 is the gear ratio of a NP205 and I think the 200. Sounds like a divorced one. Maybe even a Military version for a 6x6 of some sort.
Find Driveline man. He posted a picture of some weird case that had 2 rear outputs. Don't know if it was something he made and was jerking our chain with the picture or if it was a for real case.

the one you are thinking about is a dual output 205 that jess put together for danial for a 6x6 samurai.

its normal shaped, oval. I was thinking 6x6 also or p.t.o. like an 18. one of the yoke housings has a threaded nipple sticking up, like a cable goes to it.
a neighbor thought it mite be milatary also.
if i get rained out of work tommorow i'll take it to a shop nearby,my hours never seem to agree with theres.

Just a guess here, M715. Converted for stright thru rear shaft, instead of P-brake.

well i made it by 2 shops today and stumped 2 owners. first thing both said was it is independant setup and it looked like a 205 case but they had never seen one with flat flanges at yokes. one guy said it mite of been on a truck with a dump bed, but both rear outputs are driven all the time and there isn't another shifter for it.? other guy says its chevy or international with right side drive and thinks other yoke was brake drum, brackets all hacked off.
if anybody knows what it is and has a use for it e-mail me and lets deal or can tell me what it is so i can post it for sale. if i run across a camera i'll get pictures and post them.

"below that is an S inside a box turned up 45 degress "
That sounds like a spicer symbol. Is it a Dana/Spicer 24? It's a big divorced case that looks like an NP205, they were in '60's Ford F250 highboys.
