Looks like a quick and efficient way to remove axles to me.

The trailers do that more often than you think. That's why it's not a good idea to draft off trucks

how the hell did the rear axles on that semi get torn off? and end up 100' behind the semi?

dunno why they would come off in the first place but my guess is they came off.. and then took everything under the trailer including the triler axles with them. then ended up waaaay back over there when the sparks from the chassis quit flying.

Actually I do hang out there, as I am building an all-motor Neon drag car for the NHRA Sport Compact series. And it's not like I could get technical advice for that from here... :flipoff2:

Looks like he caught the rear tractor axle on the end of that divider, and susequently also hung the trailer axles. The trailer axle definetly caught the divider, and that's how they came off. Not sure about the truck, though.
