JBL GTI.

Most intelligent sub design ever. Stacked coils--nearly impossible to move out of the magnetic gap.

Are the Eclipse sube nice? I've never heard them but I never understood why they and Audiobahn put those huge rolled surrounds on their subs. I sell the Audiobahn stuff but havn't heard any of their high end stuff. Why not just use some engineering instead of sacrificing surface area? Engineering a'la GTI, RFL, W7, 9500, etc.

Aren't those like el-cheapo "LA" brand woofers...? I've seen some and they don't appear to be all that and a bag of chips.

he has all sorts of class d shit, he has plugged some of them into a 220 wall socket and they didnt blow..

Those Audiobahns aren't bad, I have 2 700RMS Audiobahn subs but I don't like them, sure they pound, but the SQ just isn't there. I have a JL 500/1 on those 2 subs and with the amp all the way up it burns the voice coils so Audiobahn has to overrated their RMS a whole lot.

My next sub is gonna be a JL 12W6v2. I can't wait to get it, great SQ and good SPL.

If you wanna spend some money, the JL W7 is where its at, great sub with unbelieve SQ. Altho MTXs new 9500 series sub is suspose to be a competition to the W7, I haven't heard it but its a good deal cheaper.

the one shown is the ten inch the specs list the 34" pic not available. the 10" was the pic 1000w I have no idea how they sound if you have amp's that could drive them properly I'm sure they would hit hard. There isn't sound quality voice involved in a sub its clarity in low db's if you have something solid enough to keep from vibrating the bolts loose. I'm realy talking out my ass cause my mouth doesn't know what it's saying... really I just saw the specs and said shit thats some huge crap! just having fun looking around the web:flipoff2:
oh, and the list price for the 34" sub was $5,000 not the kind of money I'd want to spend.

When I here AudioBahn I think el crappo subs.

But back when I saw them they didn't make flashy $$ subs like that only cheap ones... so maybe now they make good ones

I know the RFL and W7 are badass and I like the MTX 15"s

MTX used to suckass until the RF engineers become MTX employees :p

If I had to buy some w00fers I think I`d get 2 W7s

Storm Trooper
10-05-2003, 02:36 AM
never really messed with them,

audiobahn has always basically had a audiophile line to there products it just wasnt out there in high numbers, now they are bigger so you see them more, but trust me audiobahn is not el cheapo by any means, every brand has there cheap shit

the one thing engines and stereos have in common.

"There's no replacement for displacement"

The woofer not so big... talk to me when you get to 10,000-10o,000+ watt theatre/music hall style speakers.

I'm suprised I got my hearing back from my Sound/Light Days.

Aint that the truth :D

I wish i would've been wise enough to outsmart those fukken guitar players with some earplugs... some of the dynamics of live music just eludes me now unless i am in the thick of it all. Oh well, there's a price for everything sometimes... and i've since smarted up and stopped rehearsing altogether.
