I am probably going to be getting a YJ frame for my 8 project beings that the rear frame rails are trashed. I also will be running full width Scout 44s, with the knuckles twisted, so I hear the front spring perches are the correct width which is cool-all I have to do is grind the perch for SOA.
I need to know if any of ya'll have done this and how much stretching was done. Thanks.

Haven't done this personally, but a YJ has wheelbase ~94" and an 8 has ~104. Hmmmmmmmm.............

It's possible but probably tough. The scrambler is 10" longer in wheelbase as mentioned and also 10" behind the rear tire (thus overhhng). The frame would have to be extended 10" in 4 places. Also the gas tank might be tough too because on a Yj this is at the end of the frame and on the 8 there's an extra crossmember there for the gas tank. I'm not explaining this well but here's a scrambler frame (upside down).

Easy enough............ stretch the frame in the center. Cut off the tail in the back (body) - bob-it. Much better departure angle that way.

Stretch the frame, don't bob the body move the springs back for a little more w/b and relocate the wheel openings.

Not sure if you've already got your CJ-8 tub but if not Id go with a CJ-6 tub.. No need to bob just stretch.. still end up with a good departure angle. :D
