Had a question on my swap, I am swaping a 98 4.0L into my 87 YJ now the harness i have is kind of incomplete for the 98 but I was going to use a 95 YJ computer and Harness to wire up my engine I heard it was easier way to go, my question is if i go to the 95 harness being that all the sensors on my 98 engine have different plugs than the plugs that are on the 95 harness can I just cut the p,lugs I have on the 98 harness now and splice them into the 95 harness so I dont have to get all new sensors for my 98 engine ??

You can do that but it's probably easier to just change the sensors that have the wrong plugs. Most likely, the distributor, coil, oil pressure s.u., and one of the throttle body sensors are the different ones. I just put a '98 4.0 into a 97 cherokee and those sensors were different. This will be cleaner and prevent any potential wiring connection problems. Good luck!:)
P.S. let me know how it turns out, and what you have to do to the interior harness, if anything.

the 95 and 98 have diff computers OBD 1, OBD2 the cutoff was 96 (of which you could have either)
