I've had both in the rear end of my jeep and the lockright is noisier. That noise probably translates into parts slamming into each other and accellerated wear and stress. Go detroit when you regear and the shop will set it up right for you. By the way, it's the ez locker that is limited to 32 inch tires, lock right doesn't state a size restriction. Some swear by em, others swear at em. Some say Trac tech has great rep and warranty, others are saying they are shit, so take your pick.
