I have been given a Rancho RS9000 in cab air controller. I have the shocks that came with the twist knobs. What do I have to do to convert my shocks to use the air line controls? Does anyone know what size airlines they use? I'm getting the controller off a Scout and I'll need new lines because they will be too short.

Thanks!

I think you can just go to rancho.com and get all that you will need. As long as he gave you the compressor all diverters you will need to pick up the shock intakes?, or whatever you will call them. Sounds like you will just need lines, and the part that goes on the end of the shock. I will tell you though, maybe it was how I set it up but I had so many problems with it that I took mine off and went back to the knobs. If a line gets a hole in it you are now running the shock at the 1 setting unless you fix it right there. I like it plain and simple IMHO.

the in-cab controller is universal and not vehicle specific. i also don't think they're worth it. better off adjusting the shocks by hand. a lot less parts so there is a lot less chance of failure. besides, you'll have goofy looking red airhose running all over your rig, engine compartment and under the dash and you can't just tuck it away nicely like wiring; this stuff will kink!

hey a buddy of mine just gave me a couple of those rs9000s and I was wondering how to work them. If I don't want the in cabb adjustment I can just turn the knob on them and that does the adjusting? I've already got doestech shocks are these better?

IMHO, the in-cab controllers are too gimmicky, cool in theory but not much in real life. A couple of the guys I run with have had them, and kept getting the lines ripped off or hard-to-track leaks. Both guys are now back to manual adjustment. This is one component that I prefer to stick with the K.I.S.S. theory, so I just adjust my Rancho 9012's by hand. Most of the time I don't even adjust them, I only do it for certain trails.

The incab controler is a waste of money and a waste of time.

And if you don't have all the parts to install it, you will pay dearly for them.
