ok here is my problem. i have installed a 99 vortec 350 along with the 4L80E that was behind it . after i installed them and got it going i had a problem with the way it was shifting. the thing acts as if it is starting in 2nd gear and i roll about 20 or 30 feet and then it shift right into overdrive and the torque converter locks up!!! i asked around and with what i heard from others, i figured well maybe i have the thing wired in wrong, even though after studying the schematics some i determined that none of the wiring that was spliced into the jeep harness had anything to do with the tranny controls. all of the tranny controls came right out of the vcm. anyway i thought maybe i screwed up so i took it to sunray in weatherford tx and after it sat for 5 weeks they spent a week on it and completely undid the harness shot every wire and every sensor and it is all good. they said it had to be something in the tranny itself. what would cause this? the motor & tranny only had 15,xxx miles on it but i did have to have the output shaft changed to work with my x-case, so it has been into. being the shifting is controled by the computer i was wondering how the shift solinoids in the tranny were wired up. could these be wired out of sequence when it was put back together? i don't know i'm just thinking. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
