greeley masher 10-06-2003, 10:19 PM i have a 91 yj, sprung over. i am running some shity leaf springs.
i went to the rubicon last weekend and the springs were not giving me any flex. so my question is, what would be the best type of leaf spring for me to run. that would give me a lot of flex.

Do you run these?
I`ve been to the con 3 times on mine, and about 5 other trips/trails this summer and mine are JUST NOW settling in... so at first they are not super flexy.. but I`m hoping they will become soon :)
Oh if you run do you run 5 or 6 leaf?
I`m running 6...
redneckengineered 10-07-2003, 12:24 AM I run 12 leaf dumptruck springs...last I checked I scored a 1000rti on a 90 degree ramp at the mall
slopoke 10-07-2003, 05:21 PM REVOLVERS at both ends of the leaf, SUPER FLEX
Doc Johnson 10-07-2003, 06:10 PM How come no one has reamed him a new ass yet?
I bet he still has factory shackles, trac bars and sway bars. :flipoff2:
Try greasable shackles. Or better yet losen your curent shackles from 90 ft/lbs to 30 ft/lbs. ;)
greeley masher 10-07-2003, 07:13 PM i am running greasable shackles, and i dont run a sway bar, but nice try.

Sorry to get off topic, but,...
Jason,
How much do you want for your YJ hood?
Mine is very wrinkled, and a couple of sponsors have commented that its time to make the rig purty again.
Run some old ass waggy springs and the biotches will flex like your mama!

Thats a great way to end up with broken bolts, or missing nuts.

Nylocs, or double nuts,
bgreen 10-08-2003, 09:29 PM If you dont tighten the nuts down until the shackle contacts the sleeve of the bushing, the bolt will fatigue and break.
Been there done that. If you want to do something, install a sleeve that is slightly longer than the bushing, to allow for less restriction.
mikeswrangler 10-09-2003, 07:52 AM so what is not flexing...
are the springs flexing good.. is the frame flexing at all?
how much money do you have to spend on the flex ???
go to a 4 link set up in the rear.. and coil conversion for the front.. that will flex..
