I have a 77 Scout II with a 727 tranny and it currently needs a transmission mount. Scout Madness wanted about 50 bucks for one and I thought that was kinda expensive. Could there be any other route I could take to come out cheaper? Would a mount from an old dodge truck or car be the same? Let me know what yall think.

Was the 50.00 poly? That's not a bad price if it's a poly one. The poly ones are made by Dyco the part # is D311

Your local semi truck suppler h may carry Dyco and your local IH dealer will have OEM rubber ones.

make your own with a mold and some polyurethane mix.

Just pay the $50. The ones that Scout Madness sells should be the RPT ones. Thats just how much this shit costs these days.

If you end up going to the IH dealer try asking for a school bus or dump truck motor mount around the late 70's to late 80's. It's the same mount, and about half the cost.

The IH rubber mount is PN #879627R93 The IH dealer will also carry the Dyco mount for about 10.00 more, that's for each piece! It's been a few years but the nauural rubber one was 14 and change and the poly one was just under 25.00. The last RPS one is saw waw over 90.00!!!

Not sure what the Dyco is but I just swing arounf the corner to the local IH dealer here in Tulsa (Frontier IH) and I buy the rubber mounts for about $14 a piece (2-piece) all day long. They typically come in an IH wrapper and have a IH part # but I dont have it handy at the moment as I havent had to buy one in awhile but I do remember having to ask the parts guy for a motor mount because it's the same as the motor mount in my '84 IH school bus.
